About The Dearings
Leonard & Audrey Dearing
Dearing Elementary opened in 2014 and is named for Pflugerville couple Leonard and Audrey Dearing. The Dearings have long been active members of the community and given back in many ways.
Leonard Dearing was a former member and president of the Pflugerville ISD Board of Trustees before his passing in 2007. He also was honored as a participating supporter of Pflugerville High School’s FFA Chapter.
Audrey was a founding member of the Friends of Pflugerville Library, helping establish a library for the community before the city created its own public library. She and some friends saw a need for a library in the community when a mobile library serving Pflugerville quit running in the 1970s.
Audrey also partnered with her friends and fellow Pflugerville icons Vernagene Mott and Pamela Stephenson to write “Images of America: Pflugerville” detailing the history and founding of Pflugerville.

My kids have been at Dearing since 2017 and we love it! It has been incredible. We have a strong sense of community and support. The teachers are so supportive! It's clear they love what they do and love the students.

I have had four kids attend Dearing. The Staff and Teachers are so kind and welcoming it is now my favorite school campus to Substitute at! Everyone at Dearing is so welcoming and helpful! The front office staff always has a smile for you. I’m amazed how they always know everyone by name.

I love giving to my students. It is through giving to them that I receive the gift of knowing that I have enriched their lives. I like the infectious desire to learn of the students.
